This GPA calculator is designed for Grade 12 students under the National Examination Board (NEB) of Nepal. It computes your GPA using the grading rules configured for this site, taking into account both theory and practical or internal components for the Science and Management streams.
GPA stands for Grade Point Average. It is a single number that summarises how you performed across all of your subjects, weighted by the credit hours of each subject. A subject with more credit hours affects your GPA more than a subject with fewer credit hours.
Because grading rules, credit hours and subject lists can change, always check your result against the official rules that apply to your academic year. The result this calculator produces is provisional.
GPA = (∑(Credit Hour × Grade Point)) ÷ Total Credit Hours
Final Grade = Weighted average of Theory and Practical components
Letter grades, grade points and the percentage range each grade covers.
| Letter Grade | Grade Point | Percentage Range | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| A+ | 4.0 | 90-100% | Outstanding |
| A | 3.6 | 80-90% | Excellent |
| B+ | 3.2 | 70-80% | Very Good |
| B | 2.8 | 60-70% | Good |
| C+ | 2.4 | 50-60% | Above Average |
| C | 2.0 | 40-50% | Average |
| D | 1.6 | 35-40% | Below Average |
| NG | 0.0 | Below 35% | Non-Graded |
The final grade for each subject is a weighted average of its theory and practical or internal components, using each component's credit hours. Computer Science uses a 50% theory and 50% practical split; most other subjects use 75% theory and 25% practical.
The questions students ask most often about the NEB GPA calculator.
Enter your student name, choose your subjects where the calculator asks, select the grade you received for each theory and practical or internal component, then press Calculate GPA. The calculator applies the configured credit-hour weighting and shows a provisional marksheet you can print.
The Science stream includes English, Nepali, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, plus one optional subject: Computer Science or Biology. Computer Science uses a 50% theory and 50% practical split; the other subjects use 75% theory and 25% practical.
The Management stream includes English, Nepali and a choice of Mathematics or Social Studies & Life Skills, plus three optional subjects chosen from Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, Business Mathematics, Computer Science, Tourism & Mountaineering and Hotel Management.
Each subject is split into components with their own maximum marks and credit hours. Your component grades are combined using the component credit hours, which is why a subject with a heavier theory component is affected more by the theory grade.
NG means Non-Graded: the minimum grade for the subject was not secured. NG carries 0.0 grade points, so it lowers your GPA and means the subject needs to be retaken.
Yes. After calculating, press Print Result. Only the marksheet is printed, and your browser print dialog can save it as a PDF.
No. The marksheet is provisional and generated by this website for reference only. It is not issued by, endorsed by, or affiliated with the National Examination Board. Always check your result against the official NEB marksheet.
The grading table, percentage bands, credit hours and subject lists on this site are configuration, not fixed code. When the rules change they can be updated from the dashboard, and the calculator starts using the new rules immediately.
